HOW TO CARE FOR CROTON (CODIAEUM VARIEGATUM)

If Croton lovely leaves immediately begin to fall off after one of our (dashingly handsome) drivers drop her off, don't panic - this is her normal reaction to being moved. Croton really doesn't like being uprooted, so try to make sure you keep her in one place.
Croton prefers bright, direct light. Careful, though: too much super-hot sunlight and her leaves will become scorched.
When it comes to watering Croton, it's important to get the balance right. During growing season, you want the soil to be evenly moist (not soggy). But make sure to cut back a little bit on watering in the winter.
Croton prefers a humid environment, so try to up the moisture in the air around her. An easy way to do this is to put her in a naturally humid room, like the kitchen or bathroom.
Croton's a hungry women -- she'll need to be given a bit of feed that's high in nitrogen and potassium every month during growing season. In the winter, you can feed her once every two months.
An easy way to put Croton in a mood is to leave her in the cold. If temperatures go below 15 degrees, things can quickly go south -- so make sure she stays in a reasonably warm room.
